The C-ITS services developed and tested in national pilot projects are harmonised through the high-level C-Roads Platform. The C-Roads Platform is a joint initiative of
more than 20 EU member states and road operators working together on the coordinated deployment and harmonised operation of C-ITS services across Europe.
To ensure that C-ITS services are provided in the same manner and with the same quality across different manufacturers and national borders, the C-Roads Platform develops uniform
specifications, connects national pilot projects, and promotes cross-border testing.
The C-ITS services specified and harmonised at the European level can be found in the Harmonised C-ITS Specifications Release.
The current version is available on the *C-Roads Platform's release website (free registration
required).
The C-Roads Platform operates topic-specific working groups, for example on organisational or technical aspects of C-ITS implementation, evaluation, digital infrastructure, and
concepts for the regular operation of C-ITS services. C-Roads Germany addresses these issues in parallel at the national level through expert groups led by the Federal Highway Research Institute.
